The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has called the ongoing murders and kidnapping of Christian clerics in Nigeria disturbing and unacceptable.

“As an organization that worships God, we pray that the wrath of God shall rain severely on all those involved for terrorizing Nigerians and killing innocent civilians,” Bishop Francis Wale Oke, President of PFN, said in a statement.

According to the statement, bandits recently committed the “gruesome murder of Rev. Fr. Father Isaac Achi of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church, Kafin-koro, Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.”

According to sources, the robbers broke into his home at around 3 a.m. on January 15 and after being unable to get inside, they set the house on fire, killing the clergyman.

The PFN remembered that Father Collins, the deceased’s coworker, was wounded in the shoulder as well while attempting to flee and was taken to the hospital, describing the occurrence as extremely terrible.

The statement continued, “The continual killing, as well as the kidnapping of Christian clerics in Nigeria is highly disturbing and intolerable,” adding that the death of Achi was definitely one death too many.

The group bemoaned the fact that Nigeria had turned into a killing field where people were treated like animals and culprits got away with it.

“This must be halted immediately. The statement continued, “The administration must take every action at its disposal to put an end to this scourge.

The PFN emphasized that the lawless and barbaric act has continued for too long without anyone being arrested and prosecuted by the government, and called on the federal government and security agencies to step up efforts to salvage what it called “this ugly situation” and give Nigerians a new lease on life.

The organization holds that although offenders may believe they have evaded man’s judgment, they will never escape the judgment of the all-powerful God who observes everything.

The PFN expressed its deepest sympathies to the Achi family and the Catholic Church and prayed that God would give them consolation as well as maintain peace and harmony in the nation.
