Mrs. Caroline Adepoju, who is the acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has allowed the immediate reassignment of 15 passport officers as a way to strengthen the ongoing reform of passports.

This is what Kenneth Kure, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration and Acting Public Relations Officer, said in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Adepoju said that the NIS management was set on improving the way passports were handled both at home and in foreign offices.

She gave her word that the service wouldn’t change its stated goal of making all passport offices focused on customer care.

She said that the Alausa and Festac passport offices in Lagos, as well as those in Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nassarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abia, Kano, Taraba, and Ondo, were among the ones hit.

The acting CG said that from now on, only the smartest people who fully believe in the motto “service before self” would be sent to important places.

She said, “This is because our people deserve nothing but the best.”

The order to move people was signed by Mr. Usman Babangida, who is the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Human Resources, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
