The NDLEA officers accused of killing 2-year-old Ivan Omhonrina should be brought to justice, according to the House of Representatives’ request to Kayode Egbetokun, the acting inspector general of police.
Following a motion made on the House floor by Uyime Idem on Tuesday, the House made the decision.

According to Mr. Idem, the infant died on July 13 in Asaba, while his younger brother was wounded.
The congressman stated that prompt intervention is necessary to stop extrajudicial executions by law enforcement.
Innocent Nigerians are frequently killed by stray gunfire, he continued, “posing significant risks and consequences for individuals, communities, and the country as a whole.”

After the motion was presented, the House decided that the NDLEA and other organizations should fund officers’ training.
A minute of silence was also observed to remember young Ivan Omhonrina.
