Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has congratulated Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, on being Nigeria’s first female Grammy award-winning musician.
“Congratulations to the trailblazing Tems @temsbaby for making history as the first female Nigerian artist to get a Grammy Award,” the former Senate president stated in a post on his official Twitter handle on Monday.

“Honored in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her incredible contribution to “Wait for U,” featuring Future and Drake. Nigeria is proud of your accomplishments.”
Tems previously won the 2023 Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her role in Future’s 2022 smash single, which featured Drake’s Wait for U’.
The 65th Grammy Awards were place on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
