Sadiku Abubakar Ohere, a senator for the Kogi Central Senatorial District, bemoaned the frequent building fall in Nigeria on Thursday.
He claimed that the opening of Ajaokuta Iron and Steel would prevent building collapses because the quality of its products, particularly its rods, could sustain the weight of cast pillars and decking.

The lawmaker emphasized that the completion of the steel project will make excellent and reasonably priced iron and steel available to builders for all types of buildings during an interactive session with the Senate Press Corps on Thursday in Abuja.
When the Ajaokuta Steel Plant is finished, Ohere remarked, it will lower the cost of building supplies, notably rods and other steel elements, preventing architects and builders from using subpar materials that could lead to a collapsed structure.
He continued, “If the steel project is completed and made to function at its best, it will also serve as a catalyst for the industrialization of the country,” and he expressed hope that President Bola Tinubu will pay attention before he completes his first 100 days in office.

“As of right now, 38 of the project’s 46 production units have been finished; eight remain.
“It is a worthwhile initiative that will aid in the development of the nation across a number of industries and, most significantly, act as a solution to the ongoing issue of building collapse in the nation by producing high-quality, reasonably priced iron and steel builders and construction companies.
He revealed that FG’s decision to continue the project would be supported by legislation.
