Speaking on the topic of “Strengthening Public Institutions Towards Achieving Hassle-Free Governance—The Need to Reward Excellence and Tenacity,” Nyonye, who is also the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at Nile University, laid emphasis on the idea that reward acts as a motivator for work performance.
She emphasized that a reward system would be extremely beneficial for the public sector in Nigeria. Keeping in mind that public sector organizations can benefit greatly from a well-designed incentive program.
Public institutions may improve work satisfaction, promote desired behaviors, and foster a culture of accountability by recognizing and motivating employees through both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards, she noted.
