Suffering: Remi Tinubu and Nigeria Customs announce a N500 million fund for Nigerians in need

In an effort to lessen the impact of the current hardship on Nigeria’s most vulnerable citizens, Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady of the country, and Bashir Adeniyi, the comptroller general of Nigeria Customs, have unveiled the N500,000 million Customs Officers Wives’ Association supporting money.

This was announced during the Customs Officers Wives’ Association, or COWA, recent relaunch in Abuja.

Oluremi Tinubu stated that the federal government backs any effort to get Nigeria out of its current predicament, as represented by Oghogho Musa, President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association.

Our country is unique not because of our political differences but rather because of our common ideals and principles, which include empathy, compassion, honesty, and respect.

Each of us must play a part in ensuring that these values are maintained and honored in order to lay the foundation for a strong, cohesive community.

She pleaded, “I beg you all to spread the message of kindness and compassion to every corner of our country.”

In his goodwill message, Nigeria’s Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, stated that women’s contributions to lifting the country out of adversity cannot be overstated, pointing out that they fill a critical role in doing so.

He stated that the agency has obtained N35 million worth of land in Abuja for COWA.

“The reactivation of COWA demonstrates our unwavering dedication to the welfare and empowerment of women in our households as wives and among our fellow officers. He said, “COWA’s initiative includes the development of officers’ wives on a personal and professional level, creating a peaceful home environment, and actively participating in community development that strongly aligns with the objectives of the Nigerian Customs Service.”

The N500,000 fund, according to COWA President Kikelomo Adeniyi, will assist about 100,000 less fortunate Nigerians nationally in 2024.

The National Bureau of Statistics’ December consumer price index revealed an increase in inflation to 29.90%, as reported by furucinovel.
