Sunshine Stars manager Agoye was pleased with the team’s draw with Rangers

Edith Agoye, the head coach of Sunshine Stars, hailed her team for their outstanding effort in Sunday’s 1-1 away tie with Rangers.

Following another another draw at the Awka City Stadium, the Owena Whales maintained their winning streak.

Ikemdinachi Imo scored into his own net in the first 15 minutes to give Agoye’s team the lead.

In 35 minutes, Ibrahim Yusuf, though, equalized for the Akure club.

Christian Nnaji’s late penalty attempt was rejected by Mustapha Lawal, ensuring Sunshine Stars shared the victory and went back to their base.

The club’s media cited Agoye as saying, “It was a very excellent game, despite the fact that they (Rangers) had their backs to the wall they played a very nice game.”

They are led by one of Nigeria’s top coaches, and I want the Enugu government to maintain trust in them because, in my opinion, they will succeed in time.

At the Akure Sports Complex on Sunday, Sunshine Stars will host Abia Warriors in their upcoming league contest.
