Following the refusal of the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Olusegun Odusola, to form up a seven-man panel, the attempt to impeach the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, may have hit a brick wall.
According to information obtained by furuci, the Chief Judge sent a letter that was delivered to Olamide Oladiji, the Speaker of the Assembly, in which he divulged that the direction that had been granted earlier to set up the panel would not be satisfied due to an ex-parte decision issued by an Abuja Federal High Court.

Odusola’s stance on the matter was communicated after the deadline for establishing the investigation panel, which had been set for seven days, had passed.
In light of the 14 charges that have been leveled against Aiyedatiwa, the Assembly has given Justice Odusola the directive to establish an investigation panel within the next week.
Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, claimed that the letter was received by the Speaker while verifying the recent occurrence.

According to him, Article 188(10) of the Constitution of the year 199 is very explicit about the procedures for impeachment, which is why they have made the decision to follow due process.
Ogunmolasuyi emphasized that the impeachment processes against Aiyedatiwa are still ongoing as the Assembly will disregard the law. This was in response to a question about whether or not the Assembly will violate the law.
