Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, has advised the 10 Christian Police Officers chosen for the 2023 pilgrimage in Jerusalem, Israel, to be good ambassadors for the Police Force and the country during the trip.
The IGP further stated that he sought and received authorisation from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, to ensure that the exercise becomes a regular occurrence.

CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, made the announcement on Friday.
According to Adejobi, the IGP has also institutionalized the exercise to ensure that future governments follow suit.
While encouraging pilgrims to spend the time in sober reflection in order to positively impact their policing duties, the IGP stated that the pilgrimage was initiated and funded by his office in collaboration with some well-meaning Nigerians in order to encourage Police Officers to be steadfast and uphold the lofty tenets of their faith.
