Otunba Olasubomi Balogun, the late founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), was hailed by President Bola Tinubu as a pioneer in the Nigerian banking industry and a role model for future generations of bankers.
NAN reports that Tinubu made this statement on Saturday at Balogun’s funeral service at the Cathedral Church of Our Saviour in Ijebu-Ode.

The late stock market baron’s achievements would be missed, the president said through Vice President Kashim Shetima.
He recognized the contributions made by the sons and daughters of Ijebu to the overall growth of the nation.
Ijebuland’s residents, he remarked, “you, our dear people, we must be grateful for the personality you have raised for the country and the world.”
