Vandalism of vital national assets and infrastructure in the territory would soon come to an end, according to Olusola Odumosu, the commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This promise was made by Odumosu during his meeting with Christopher Maikalangu, chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), on Friday in Abuja.

He claimed that the Command would continue its fight against criminals in the FCT, especially vandals who deprive people of democracy’s benefits.

There will be no more theft or vandalism in the FCT, he promised, and that included manhole covers, street lights, traffic lights, highways, bridges, and water dams.

The commandant boasted that he had already achieved notable victories against vandals upon taking office.

A number of individuals have been taken into custody in the heart of the city, and some of them will face legal consequences.

“We will not rest until we have eradicated vandalism in the FCT,” Odumosu declared, after acknowledging that the fight had not yet been won.

He vowed to do his best to secure the territory’s schools by participating in the NSCDC’s safe school initiative.

In order for the corps to fulfill its mission as stated in its Act, he consequently requested the Chairman’s support.

Meanwhile, the AMAC Chairman reassured the commandant of his unwavering support in fulfilling the Corps’s objectives in the FCT.

He claims that the NSCDC has demonstrated its ability to function well both on its own and in tandem with other organizations.
