Protesters in Ogun State confined to Abeokuta’s MKO Abiola Stadium, Sagamu’s Gateway International Stadium, Ijebu Ode’s Dipo Dina Stadium, and Ota’s Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School have been ordered by a high court sitting in Abeokuta.
Tajudeen presided over the court. In suit no. AB/667/2024, the Attorney-General of Ogun State made an application, and Messers Afolabi Adeboye, Ifemosu Michael, and Lekan Soneye (representing themselves and the #FearlessInOctober protesters), Bestman Okereafor (representing the Progressive Students Movement), Francis Adeyanju (representing the National Association of Nigerian Students), and Thomas Kehinde (representing the National Association of Ogun Students) were named as respondents. A.Okunsokan issued this order in response to this application.

Ogun State’s commissioner of police, Koyejo Morenikeji, Nicholas Eko (representing the Socialist Democratic Movement), Yinka Folarin (representing the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights), and other unidentified individuals are also named as respondents in the lawsuit.
The order specifically states that the demonstrators are not to congregate anywhere else in the state other than the specified locations.
The court has ordered the commissioner of police to make sure that the verdict is enforced. The ruling will be in effect for seven days, as stated in Order 39 of the High Court of Ogun State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2014.
