The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, was represented by Senator Ademola Adeleke, who won the July 16 governor’s race in Osun state. The Supreme Court confirmed Adeleke’s candidacy on Thursday.
Prince Dotun Babayemi filed an appeal against Adeleke after winning the PDP governorship nomination in a parallel primary election that was held in the state. The supreme court dismissed the petition in a unanimous decision by a five-judge bench.
