Ahmad Gandi, the Kogi State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), claims that the organization has stayed true to its goal of safeguarding vital infrastructure across the nation.

Gadi said this on Thursday when hosting Brig Gen HI Dasuki, the new 12 Brigade Commander for Kogi in the Nigerian Army, in Lokoja.

“We are highly trained, well positioned to ensure that all governmental assets and infrastructure are safe and well guarded,” the Commandant remarked after taking his time to describe the basic mission of the Corps. We are trying our best to help them since there are so many of them in the state.

“NSCDC personnel are in every one of the state’s 21 local governments, providing security to maintain law and order, protecting people’s lives and possessions, as well as Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in every nook and cranny of the state.”

He praised the strong cooperation between the military and the NSCDC, saying that it has aided in the fight against crime and criminality in Kogi State.

Earlier, Brig Gen HI Dasuki, commander of the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, expressed his gratitude to the NSCDC Commandant for the cordial welcome extended to him and his entourage.

Dasuki accepted the NSCDC’s legal obligation and promised to help it thrive in the state.

No security agency can do it alone, he said, asking for the NSCDC’s help in the field of intelligence sharing. The protection of people’s lives and property throughout the nation is our shared objective as security agencies.
