Bruno Fernandes, a midfielder for Manchester United, has admitted he believed the club was being haunted by “ghosts from the past” when they dropped their first two games of the year.
The Red Devils suffered a devastating 4-0 loss against Brentford after losing 2-1 to Brighton at home on the opening weekend.

Fernandes asserts that the performance brought to mind the gloomy moments near the conclusion of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, which were followed by the carefree drift of Ralf Rangnick’s temporary tenure.
“You can feel it between ourselves, between the fans, in the atmosphere, that it was like returning back to the past,” he said, according to The Athletic.
“Everyone noticed that confidence was once more low. Everyone was hesitant to take the ball, but they were not terrified either. Sometimes I thought it was the ghosts of the past.

“Brentford was considerably worse after that. The team’s confidence and energy suddenly dropped after we gave up a goal that came out of nowhere.
