Applications for the ACU Summer School 2023/2024 in South Africa are now being accepted. ACU Summer School South Africa is open to all International Students from across the world.

This is the Commonwealth’s Fully Funded Exchange Program. This inaugural event will take place from July 2-10, 2023, at Stellenbosch University in South Africa.

The summer school’s theme is Truth and Reconciliation. Students from a variety of academic backgrounds are welcome to apply, and there is no requirement for IELTS or other language evidence. This program has no application fees.

Candidates for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees are all eligible to apply. Participants will study about the political, social, and economic dynamics that influenced South African politics in the twentieth century, as well as have the opportunity to network with students from all around the world. A total of 40 people will be chosen.

Aside from academics, the ACU Summer School allows students to get to know their peers through social activities such as game evenings and film screenings. Accommodation on the Stellenbosch University campus will be provided, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in this life-changing event.

Eligibility Criteria for ACU Summer School:

Candidates must meet the following criteria in order to apply for ACU Summer School 2023/2024 in South Africa (Fully Funded):

The ACU Summer School is open to current postgraduate students (masters and PhD) and final-year undergraduate students at Association of Commonwealth Universities member universities (ACU). You may find out if your university is a member of the ACU by clicking on the link given.

This program is designed for students who are studying topics linked to truth and reconciliation or who have a personal interest in these topics. Students who have not traveled significantly are given priority, with exceptions allowed for students studying in South Africa or ACU scholars.

Applications from students with impairments, indigenous students, and those who have never traveled outside of their home region for job, school, or leisure are strongly encouraged.
Previous ACU Summer School participants are not allowed to apply.

Application Requirements: You must submit a thorough academic reference from a lecturer or supervisor at your current university of study who is familiar with your recent academic work as part of your online application.

This must be sent on official university letterhead, signed and dated after December 5, 2022, and address your suitability for the ACU Summer School.

You must also provide answers to the following questions:

Describe your rationale for wanting to attend the ACU Summer School 2023, as well as what you hope to contribute to and gain from the event.

Describe how your interests and/or accomplishments, professional experience, volunteer experience, and studies relate to the themes of peace, truth, and reconciliation in your setting.

Choose the UN Sustainable Development Goal that most closely connects to the subject you are studying or researching, and explain why it is critical that this goal be met using an example from your own nation.
Describe how you intend to share your ACU Summer School knowledge and experience with your university and community after the event.
