The Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria is not connected to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), according to their statement.
The group’s clergymen met with Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, on Friday in Abuja.
Nigerians have reacted differently to the fact that Kashim Shettima, his running mate, and Tinubu are both Muslims.

It has also been denounced by organizations like the PFN and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
David Bakare, the PFN’s deputy national secretary, stated in an interview with TheCable on Sunday that “there is nothing in PFN that is regionally based like southern or northern pentecostal bishops.”
Bakare asserts that the PFN is a division of CAN and that the resistance to the Muslim-Muslim APC ticket has not changed.

He asserted that the Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria and Tinubu’s meeting had nothing to do with the PFN.
“I am officially and authoritatively stating to you that the ranks of the Christian community, as well as the PFN that I represent, are not at all broken.
The PFN is unaware of the Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria. The PFN that is registered with the government of this country has no affiliation with or connection to the forum.

“The PFN’s stance on the same faith ticket remains the same as it did from the outset, and we haven’t changed it for any reason at all.
“The PFN did not participate in the highly politicized meeting with the presidential contender. However, we are aware of the reverberations of this issue in the public sphere.
“I am speaking in an official capacity to make it clear that the PFN has no connection to that group. We didn’t make such a choice, we haven’t spoken to that political party, and whatever we do will be made public.
“That group is independent and has no connection to the actual PFN that is incorporated. I examined the names and the pictures from the conference. I could name two or three of our members, but they already spoke for themselves,” he said.
