Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola told Manchester United that they will not return to Sir Alex Ferguson’s glory days.
Guardiola spoke ahead of Sunday’s Derby at Old Trafford.
Last season, the Spaniard led City to a historic Treble, matching Ferguson’s achievement.
Ferguson led United to 13 Premier League victories and two Champions League titles.
Guardiola, who has won five of the previous six Premier League titles, was questioned if Manchester would ever succeed again.
He replied: “Maybe not in the way Sir Alex Ferguson controlled in those days because there were only two or three teams.
There are more clubs with great managers, so maybe not.
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
