Nigerians Are Getting Sick Of The Government; Obaseki Says We Will All Be Shocked

The upcoming elections in Nigeria will be decided by performance, according to Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State.
Tuesday’s mid-year retreat for commissioners, special advisers, and leaders of departments, divisions, and organizations was where Obaseki made this declaration.

He asserts that the people are becoming “tired” of the government’s inaction.

“I’m sure all of you are keeping a close eye on developments in the country, especially the evolving political developments,” he said.

“One thing is starting to stand out. Nigerians are currently growing tired of the government and the representatives who serve in it. And you can tell by their social media responses and the direction of their passions and emotions.

Therefore, I think that failing to adapt to these changes and holding on to the belief that things are still the same will hurt us greatly as the government and representatives of our people. People are the purpose of government. As we start to realize, we will all be shocked.

“People are now realizing that they need to demand a lot more from those in authority and those charged with overseeing the management of their collective resources. And praise God for technology and the rest of the world’s developments because they will eventually demand.

“People will cast their votes according to their interests. Don’t let’s deceive ourselves. Because voters are paying attention, no politician or political party today can strut their stuff and declare, “We will have a clear victory in the next elections.”

“People will only leave their houses to cast their votes if there is a compelling reason for them to. Either they are voting in favor of something or against something. They are unlikely to come out to even express interest if they have not profited.

“So, we’re moving away from that point of view where everything was talk, hype, making up a story, and attempting to explain it in the polls by doing all kinds of magical things. It is not feasible once more.

“People will inquire, ‘What have you done recently for us?’ We still have not reached the end of our road, and you want us to vote for you despite the fact that you broke your promise to us and failed to complete it. Do you believe we are fools? People are going to respond in that way.

Nobody will be spared, either. Therefore, if the politician fails to deliver, he is removed from office. A fresh group of individuals will arrive. The government employees will also not be spared. He claimed that they’ll apply pressure to them.
