The Institute of Continuing Education (lCE) in Warri, Delta State, has been forced to vacate its premises, leaving its students stranded.
This came after a court decision that favored the Baptist Church, Warri, which was located within the institute’s boundaries.
The institute’s front gate has concrete walls that were cemented as of the time this report was filed.
Prof. Nyerovwo Tonukari, the Commissioner for Higher Education, verified that ICE had been defeated in a lawsuit spanning more than a decade concerning the ownership of the property where the school was situated, which was next to a Baptist church on Okere Road.
However, he revealed that the institute was moved to Cavagina Primary School, which is located along Warri/ Sapele Road, by the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
He said that the Ministry had made the move a permanent arrangement.
