President Bola Tinubu has been given a 14-day deadline by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) to remove the fuel subsidy.
Within the next four weeks, according to SERAP, Tinubu should reveal the expenditure breakdown for the fuel subsidy.
If Tinubu does not release the information within four weeks, the organization has pledged to file a lawsuit against him.

Announcing the withdrawal of the gasoline subsidy in a tweet on Sunday, SERAP stated: “BREAKING: Subsidy removal: We’ve urged President Tinubu to widely publish spending details of the N400 billion saved in four weeks from the removal of subsidy on petrol, or face legal action.”
During his inauguration on May 29, Tinubu declared an end to the gasoline subsidy system.
He had committed to see to it that funds used for gasoline subsidies went toward infrastructure for things like education and health.
