Nigerian musician Panshak Zamani, better known by his stage name Ice Prince, has spoken publicly about the difficulties he faced as an orphan.

The ‘Aboki’ singer revealed that his life took a difficult turn when he was 21 years old and had previously lost his father when he was 11 years old.

Ice Prince recently opened up about his time spent working odd jobs to pay for school on an edition of the “Listen” podcast. He said that he was unable to attend university because he lacked the N20,000 necessary.

I don’t have either of my parents,” he declared. I am the only son in my family. Well, that’s tricky. At the age of eleven, I experienced the loss of my father. My mother died when I was twenty-one or twenty-two years old. Plus, I am the breadwinner of a large family.

I am not dependent on any relative; I do not have an uncle, aunt, godfather, or godmother. In my life, there has been no one but God.

My goal in life is to set an example of success so that others will see that no one can’t fail if I can do it.

I was the student who, due to the high cost of tuition, stayed home for at least three weeks each semester. For financial reasons, I opted out of university. That sum was due in approximately two weeks, but I was unable to come up with the funds in time. I failed to get admission because of that.
