Rasmus Hojlund, a new striker for Manchester United, has not yet received a squad number since joining the Premier League team.
The number Hojlund wore at Atalanta, according to Mail Sport, could become available if Fred leaves in the summer.
The 20-year-old, who has six goals in six appearances for the Danish national team, and United have reached an agreement on a contract for £72 million.
Last year, Hojlund wore the number 17 for Atalanta and the number 9 for his previous team, Sturm Graz.
The availability of neither number at Old Trafford, though, may soon alter.
Before settling on Hojlund’s roster number, it is thought that United wants a clearer understanding of their outgoings.
