Bolaji Agbede has been named by Access Holdings Plc as the acting group chief executive officer in the wake of Herbert Wigwe’s tragic passing.
This was revealed in a statement released by Access Holdings Plc’s board of directors on Tuesday.

Ms. Agbede was the company’s most senior founding executive director in charge of business support prior to her appointment.
With the Central Bank of Nigeria’s clearance, she would assume leadership of Access Holdings Plc’s operations.

Agbede has a remarkable career trajectory in banking and business consulting services, spanning nearly three decades, which has given her a wealth of experience and strategic acumen.
In 1992, she started her journey at Guaranty Trust Bank.
By 2001, she had risen through the ranks to managerial roles, and in 2003, she became the Chief Executive Officer of JKG Limited, a business consultancy company.

Her employment with Access Bank Plc began in 2003 when she was appointed Assistant General Manager, with the duty of overseeing the bank’s collection of chemical trading enterprises.
Between 2010 and 2022, her strategic acumen and leadership abilities allowed her to be appointed Head of Group Human Resources at the Bank.
After thereafter, she was promoted to the position of founding Executive Director, Business Support of Access Holdings Plc, where she was instrumental in the company’s culture transformation and business unit integration.
She graduated from the University of Lagos in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics. In 2002, she completed a master’s program in business administration at Cranfield University.
She is a member of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Personnel Management as well as the UK’s Chartered Institute of Management.
Agbede has participated in a number of esteemed leadership and professional development programs, such as the London Business School’s Strategic Talent Management Program and the IMD’s High-Performance Leadership Program.
